we love this website for one big reason - it’s the sweet little, organic-lovin ladybird on their shopping bags. OK, so it doesn’t hurt that said bags are made from organic cotton, and produced by fair labor practices either. Support and spread the organic message, without looking like a crusty hippy. Doing the green thing at home is great - we’re all over the CFLs and recycled, non-bleached toilet paper, but until not so long ago, laundry was where we drew the big, not-so-green line. Earth-friendly laundry soap just wasn’t cutting it. The clothes didn’t get super clean, and as for the freshly-laundered scent a girl loves, well, it just didn’t exist. Enter Ecover Natural Laundry Wash. With none of the nasty chems put in standard detergents, Ecover’s detergent is gentle, even for the most sensitive skin, keeps your clothes looking bright and feeling soft - and best of all - it smells great! Packed with essential oils and organic minerals and plants, it’s also bio-degradeable and animal-friendly. Of course, all this goodness comes at a price a little higher than your bog-standard detergent. But worry not - we’ve tracked down a website where you can load up on Ecover at almost 20% below store prices. And they’ll even ship it to your for free, when you order over $75 worth. Which shouldn’t be a problem, because they have all kinds of great products at discount prices. Visit now and start saving!

Get hip this Spring, without breaking the bank by snagging yourself a cute dress from the new Jovovich-Hawk line for Target. Following in the footsteps of such fashion biggies as Proenza Schouler, Paul and Joe and Luella, Jovovich and Hawk are the latest designers to create trendy new threads for Target’s Go International campaign. We love the feminine, vintage edge of the clothing. It’s flirty but cool all at once. The only accessory required: your sassy new ‘tud.

Sick of spending your latte allowance on late fees? Join Netflix, and for as little as $4.99/ month, they’ll deliver DVDs right to your door. No late fees. No hassle. Which leaves you with more cash for the important things. Like triple mocha lattes. Netflix has an absolutely massive selection (over 90,000 titles!), so whatever your whim, they probably have it. And your computer won’t laugh at your choices. Unlike the pimple-faced Blockbuster attendant. But be warned. You might never go out again once those DVDs start rolling in.

If you haven’t heard the buzz about goji berries (also called lycii or wolfberries), you’ve obviously been chillin on another planet for the past year or so. Yes, they’re the new ’superfood’… so just what’s so super about them? Well, these dried red berries, pronounced “go-gee”, are said to contain, weight for weight, more immune-boosting vitamin C than oranges, more beta-carotene than carrots (thought to help fight heart disease, defend against cancer and protect skin from sun-damage), and more iron than steak. That’s a mighty nutritional punch for a small serving of just 10-30 grams. The berries are also a good source of anti-oxidants, which may help the body defend itself against free-radical damage, and are high in B vitamins. The down side? As with every celebrity-endorsed superfood (Madonna purportedly chows down), goji berries come with a hefty price tag. But not to worry, we’ve found a website that sells them in 1lb bags for the sweet deal of only $30. Don’t forget to come back and let us know how they treat you!

This tip will save you some money, and save some of the planet’s resources. Next time, you’re looking for a great new read - find it at the used bookstore, instead of buying it new. Even best-sellers are to be found second hand within weeks of coming out. Look at your local independent bookstore if they trade in used books, or maybe your local coffee shop. If you can’t find it locally, order second hand from Amazon
. Most books are only very gently worn, and besides which, it’s kinda nice to share a book - even if you never know a thing about the person you’re sharing with!
